The Idea is that we do the ride on our own. We(riders) could get back on Hampton Jitney and the bikes could be trucked!
If the club is interested I'd figure out the logistics.
Yes its one way. Yes there is an official sign up but we wouldn't need to unless we chose to use the rest stops, which isn't a bad idea!

Would like to hear about the club finances from Steve F.
Would be the first time MARS did this sort of thing!

Hi Shelly,
This sounds like a great way to use the club money funds!
However, I'm unfamiliar with the Montauk ride. Is there an official sign up?
Is there a deadline? I've done century rides that are out and back.....is this
a one way ride? Is there a deadline for signing up? Is there a limit, and is
it too late to sign up now, since it's only a month away? How much $$?
If this is one way....is the transportation issue what you're bringing up....
to bring bikes back to the starting point? And how would the riders get
back to the starting point? I don't know Long Island at all...would riders
get back by train or something?
I might do this with you all if I could get some help figuring it all out.
Thanks....Marty in central CT (and MARS member for about 5 years)
