The ride is flat for 95 miles! The last section is a blast ! There are 2 ways to ride the last 5 miles If you go to the left you have about a 1 mile climb that graded very nicely and then down into Montauk ,If you go to the right (scenic) you get incredible rollers that are a blast to ride!
I've done this ride lots and always manage to get to the rest stops in plenty of time for food and fluids.

They lie. The ride is relatively flat. There are a few very steep bridges and
some rolling type hills. At the end there is a "killer hill" that has to be
climbed to get into Montauk itself. Also, the promised showers were
insufficient for the number of participants, they ran out of food at most rest
stops, had non existant sag support. (a women with a torn tire could not even
get them to come for help). At the end they ran out of food (no hamburgers,
only veggie burgers). They did have the free beer as promised and the free ice
cream.
