[Bent] help

wow. I'd had a couple of bad experiences in there but I chalked it up to timing (I'd never tried to get a bike repaired). My guess is that they stay in business because they're big visible supporters of TA and the local bike clubs. And Charlie (and Hal) are both fixtures on the Bike TV show on community access--Hal had his own segments running for awhile. To be fair, that's about the worst shop setup I've ever seen--there's barely enough room for a standard road bike in there, and his stands aren't set up for servicing anything non-standard. That doesn't give him justification for copping attitude, but he's not in a place where servicing a bike was thought out very well.

FWIW, They also dropped the Dahon folding brand for some reason. No reason given, just one day they weren't selling them any more.

Moral--don't go there.
