[Bent] Bike shop in NYC

Mark--the mechanics are better--they're all a little brusque, but most of them are really solid. One guy, Jonesy, had spent the better part of an hour putting a custom rack on the back of my Tomahawk. 

I also like the mechanic at Brooklyn Bike center on Coney Island Ave. The manager is Margo, and she always has someone working for her who's smart and capable. The shop is a tiny little place, but the only time they get condescending is when you bring in a bike from Kmart that uses crappy parts.

Brooklyn or Manhattan would be great.
Roy's is 5 mins from my house but they are Nasty and Rude...Maybe the
mechanics are better.

Roy's Sheepshead bicycles on Coney Island Avenue at Avenue Z carried Easy
Racers at one point (I bought both the Sun EZ and the Tomahawk there). It's
not their first line of business, but they have a big stable of mechanics
there who are game for almost anything.
