[Bent] Bike New York in the Rain?

Just to give you my two cents, I rode the 5-Boro ride on a Greenspeed 
Trike in 2005, and for much of the early ride, it was pouring. However, 
it wasn't cold, so I just got wet. But frankly it was a hoot, anyway; 
and I would have done it again this year if I hadn't missed the 
registration cut-off.

The only uncomfortable time was sitting around waiting for the ride to 
resume, after the forced rest stop. My body started to get chilled, 
which happens after you have been hammering for an hour or so and then 
come to a dead stop. So I would encourage you to bring along a windproof 
wrapper to retain your body heat, perhaps something you could easily 
wrap up and store -- or toss -- once the ride gets back on the road.

Have fun. . . . and get there early enough to get into the front 
recumbent pack, if they still allow that. Otherwise, you could be 
walking for the first couple of miles.
