Bikers from MARS:

So far, we've got OP and Super Dave interested in riding next Saturday.
Here are the details:

We'll meet at 10:15-10:30 at the Day's Inn in Hightstown, NJ at exit 8 of
the NJ turnpike and ride on mostly back roads to Freehold for lunch and
then visit the Metz bike museum, which is filled with interesting contraptions
and drive mechanisms from bygone days (but no recumbents when I visited
the place a couple of years ago). The ride is about 32-33 miles, mostly rural
and not too hilly. The usual MARS pace tends to average in the 12-15 mph
range, with pauses for slower riders to catch up.

The bike museum should be open from 12:30 to 4:30 PM. Their website is:
_http://www.metzbicyclemuseum.com/_ (http://www.metzbicyclemuseum.com/)

Directions: The starting point is easy to get to. From exit 8
(Hightstown-Freehold exit) on the NJ Tpk, get on route 33 east. Go about 2 blocks and
turn right into the first entrance to the Days Inn parking lot. We'll meet
at the west end of the lot.

By train: Take the Northeast Corridor line to Princeton Junction. Take
route 571 southeast into Hightstown (don't take the Hightstown bypass) and
then route 33 east past the turnpike entrance. Distance is about 6-7 miles
from the station.
