I'm Marty from up in Waterbury, CT...central part of the state.    (with Vision R40)



I was really hoping to get out of work and drive down to NYC to go for a bike ride with you, Tapio, and 
any other recumbent riders. BUT....I'm not a snow rider.  Cold is somewhat OK as long as it's not a long 
ride (20+ miles in cold weather = ugg.)  So...I'm going to back out because of 2 things:  snow/slush,
and a busy work schedule.  I have 1/2 vacation day left....my idea was to work until 10:30 AM one of these
days, then fly (drive fast) down to NYC and meet you guys sometime around 1 PM for an afternoon ride
with Tapio this week.  But I just can't after all, as I had hoped.  


Out of curiosity, what's it like down there in the City?   Do you have snow there?  Any area there rideable?  
Definitely not so here.  Here, we have at least a foot of snow on the ground, and "slush" on the sidewalks and roads.
There are no bike paths, and sharing a road with cars, trucks and snow banks is not possible.


Have you touched base with Tapio yet, or is he still in the air?     If you do ride, hope you have a good one.
I hope to do some rides in the future with other Marsians.  In the past...the City has just seemed too far and 
too expensive (tolls, gas, etc), but now, I've decided to venture outside of my cocoon here.
