David, thanks for your kind words.  It's about a 40 mile round trip.  This loop and the Pine Bush loop that I did a couple of years back are my two favorite local routes in that distance range.

I want to give everyone a heads-up that I plan to invite MARSians to ride with me from 
New Paltz to the first capital of New York, Kingston, and back.  I'd like to host the 
ride on May 16, weather permitting, which should coincide with peak lilac blooms (makes 
for a very nice-smelling ride!).  Details to follow.
