Folks, have you seen this? I think it was one of the goodies included in  the 
same bill that authorized the $700 billion bail-out package.

Effective January 1, 2009 the Economic  Stabilization Act of 2008

)  includes transportation fringe  benefits for bicycle commuters of up to $20 
 per month to each employee who, for any qualifying month, regularly uses a  
bicycle for a substantial portion of travel between home and work. Employers  
still have to set up a process to administer the benefit.
 
In these tough economic times, this is a  tremendous benefit (with little 
cost to employers) and a great opportunity for  businesses to promote:
-         a healthier work  force
-         an improved image  within the community
-         one more way to  save gas
-         hiring for  prospective employees
Encourage your employer to act now and  participate in this program...and
