If you have not yet registered for Bike New York (the Five Borough 
Bike Tour), it sold out on Saturday. Registration is closed and you 
will not be able to register on the day of the event.

By the way, my son-in-law, his father, and I did the pre-ride 
yesterday. The BQE was not closed off (although the East River Drive 
was) so we did the local roads (under the BQE) all the way to the VZ 
Bridge. It was one of the best pre-rides because of the very short 
compression stops. However, the pace was very slow, but one could do 
sprints by stopping traffic, waiting until the mass of 200-300 riders 
went by, and then racing off to the front. Cool weather, as well.

I'm going to be marshaling next week. As usual, I'm on the masi B 
team, right at the front. And, if I get dropped in the mass of 
riders, then I get dropped. I'll pull up to the front at Astoria 
Park, and then continue in the lead from there. That is, until I get 
dropped again ... probably at the first up-slope.
